Additions that look like they were always there
When the house needs more room, an addition can give you the space without a move. We plan it with design, engineering and permits together, so the new part matches the old.
Home Additions done properly
An addition is a small new house joined to an old one: foundations, framing, roofing, windows, insulation, heating, and the tricky work of tying it all into the existing structure so it looks and feels continuous.
We start with what you need the space for, then work through setbacks and permits with your municipality, drawings and engineering, and a fixed price before construction starts.
What is included
- Planning and design with drawings for permit
- Engineering coordination
- Foundations, framing and roofing
- Windows, insulation and envelope details for a cold climate
- Heating, plumbing and electrical extensions
- Interior finishing to match the existing home
Built for our climate
Envelope first
A new addition should be warmer than the old house, not colder. We detail insulation, air sealing and windows for long winters.
Seasonal scheduling
Foundation and framing work is planned around frost and weather, with interior work carrying on through the winter.
Home Additions: common questions
Do I need an architect?
Not always. Many additions can be drawn by a designer with engineering where required. We will tell you what your project needs.
