Flooring and tile, done from the subfloor up
A floor is only as good as what is under it. We level and prepare subfloors, choose underlayment for the room, and install hardwood, vinyl plank, laminate and tile with clean transitions between them.

Flooring & Tile done properly
Most flooring problems, from squeaks and cracked tile to gaps in plank floors, start with a subfloor that was not flat, stiff or dry enough. We check it first and fix it before anything goes down.
For tile, that means the right membrane, a flat substrate and careful layout so cuts land where you will not notice them. In wet areas, tile goes over a tested waterproofing system.

Built for our climate
Seasonal movement
Wood floors shrink in dry winter air and swell in summer. We acclimatize material and leave the expansion space it needs.
Entries take a beating
Snow, ice melt and gravel are hard on floors near the door. We suggest finishes that cope, and good transitions to the rest of the house.
Basements over concrete
Slabs are cold and can carry moisture, so the floor and underlayment choice in a basement is different from upstairs.
Flooring & Tile: common questions
Which floor is best for a basement?
Products that tolerate some moisture and temperature change, such as luxury vinyl plank or tile, are usually safest over concrete. We look at your slab before recommending anything.
Can you tile over my existing floor?
Sometimes, if it is flat, solid and well bonded. More often, removing it and preparing the subfloor properly is what keeps the new tile from cracking.
What clients say
Our floors had squeaked for twenty years. The crew fixed the subfloor before laying anything new, and the whole main floor is quiet now. Small thing, but it is the thing we notice every day.
